I have a good friend who moved here from Santa Cruz. She’s lived in lots of places and has had some amazing experiences. She’s been hairdressing for over 20 years. She and her friend opened a salon in Portland. They do great work. They’re looking for business, so I offered to write up a blog post telling the world about their work. The salon is called Lucas, and my friend is Shiloh Brownbridge.
Lucas Salon is a creative hair stylist collaboration located near the waterfront in the historic Old Town district. If you’re searching for the best hair salon in Portland, look no further. Lucas is a five-chair boutique salon with exposed brick walls, a bar stocked with yummy drinks, a giant couch for lounging, and enough magazines to keep you entertained for days. So stop by, enjoy a drink, browse some art, or relax and surf the web while you wait for a stylist to work her magic.
You can also book Lucas for bridal parties or other special events. Call the salon or pop by to learn more about how the Lucas team can style hair for weddings, fashion shows and more.
Shiloh began her training in 1993 at San Francisco’s Architects and Heroes. Wanting to be at the top of her field, she moved to New York City to work with Oribe — a world famous group with an unmatched portfolio. While in New York, Shiloh’s work was featured in editorials and major advertising campaigns, and she also styled hair backstage at Fashion Week.
Shiloh and Taylor Lucas worked together in New York City before they both relocated to California (Shiloh to Santa Cruz and Taylor to Los Angeles). After years of working in California, they’ve decided to join forces and open a salon in the historic Old Town district of Portland.
Shiloh’s work has been showcased in Nylon, Allure, and Premiere, and she was voted Best Hairstylist by New York’s Village Voice. Shiloh has had the privilege of working on such celebrities as Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Christina Ricci.
Shiloh’s high-profile client list speaks for itself, but you don’t have to be famous to book an appointment. She simply wants to provide the best salon experience in Portland, while offering down-to-earth service and extraordinary results. Her goal with each client is to create a haircut and color that reflects his or her personal style.
And if you’re lucky you’ll get to meet her adorable pup that meanders about the shop when he’s not napping on the couch, or under the desk, or near Shiloh’s station.
